On June 2 2006 Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn received representatives from SIL International, UNESCO and the Thai Ministry of Education at Chiltralada Palace.

SIL President Carolyn Miller congratulated Her Royal Highness on her appointment as UNESCO’s “Goodwill Ambassador for the Empowerment of Minority Children through Education and through the Preservation of Their Intangible Cultural Heritage.”

SIL admires the development projects of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, as well as Princess Sirindhorn’s educational projects. These projects have greatly improved the lives of all Thai people, including Thailand’s ethnic minorities.
